But first, here are the instructions for all our wild rice blends.
Ingredients: 1 part blend to 5 parts water.
Tools: Pan/pot and a colander
Instructions:
Bring your 5 parts water to a boil, add your blend. Boil the blend at a rolling boil for 40-45 minutes. You want to make sure the blend is covered with water throughout the cooking process. You may need to add a little water as needed. When the blend has absorbed the water, drain using a colander.
Now, the fun part!
Breakfast:
Precook a wholegrain wild rice blend, like our popular Bistro Blend, the night before while you are relaxing with your family and watching TV. In the morning, take a serving of the rice and mix it in with scrambled eggs. To add flavor, add your favorite salsa or hot sauce. The eggs will provide the protein and the wild rice blend will help keep you fuller, longer.
Lunch:
It’s easy to add your leftover rice from dinner to be a perfect side dish to any lunchtime meal. Or you can make it a meal by putting rice into a tortilla wrap with some fresh veggies like cucumber, tomatoes and peppers.
Italian Style Dinner:
Prepare your rice blend (We suggest Tasty Thyme) with the above instructions. In a separate pan, saute some onions, mushrooms and celery with some Italian seasoning. When the rice is done and the veggies have been cooked, mix together for a delicious combo. Add chicken or Italian sausage for a complete meal.
Mexican Style Dinner:
Purchase some of our Mexicali Wild Blend and prepare as instructed. To make a delicious rice bowl, add tomatoes, peppers, sour cream, avocado and green onion. This dish is easy and bursting with flavor. You can add taco seasoned ground beef, chicken, or fajita steak for a filling meal the whole family will love.
